· Bring on the bulk! Pudding gains about 6 ounces this week. The weight is in muscle, bone mass and organs as his/her body begins to fill out and his/her appearance increasingly becomes more like a newborn.
· Our little cutie may be a little more plump, but isn’t anywhere near their full baby-fatted cute-self. Most of the filling out is coming up in that long awaited (and slightly dreaded?) third trimester.
· Taste buds begin to form. If I drink something strange or bitter, Pudding may be observed showing distaste. Sorry darling, but vegies are good for you and Mummy!
· Little creases have appeared on Puddings palms and muscular coordination of his/her hands has improved as he/she sucks his/her thumb.
· Over the next seven days sweat glands will be forming in the skin.
· Pudding’s lungs are developing “branches” of the respiratory “tree” and cells that produce surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs inflate easily.
· This week our baby is officially considered viable. But please wait in there another 16 weeks or so darling!
· Baby weighs 1.3 pound (600gm) and is 11.8 inches (30cm) long — almost the length of a ruler!

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the parts that either now work, or have grown! And Auntie Clare’s comments are full of excitement and expectation! It seemed like a long time to wait, when we first heard the news, but now the time seems to be going faster and faster. We are happy to wait to meet our precious bundle until the time is perfect!
Of course Auntie Clare’s comments are going to be full of excitement. She has been waiting for this for a very long time.
I will be the proudest Auntie Clare there ever was/is/will be.
Wow! A lot is happening in Puddings world now! They gain 6 ounces! Thats a lot when you only weigh a pound.
As for HER (or him, seriously I don’t mind I just want to win the $5!) tastebuds developing, veggies may be good but Auntie Clare will teach pudding the art of eating chocolates, lollies and drinking coke. Auntie’s HAVE to special their precious nieces/nephews! It’s like a law or something.
Well, c ya!

Thanks again for the weekly update! Its nice to sit down after a busy day and hear how my niece or nephew is going. Not long now and I can buy all of those educational toys, as long as their not from Mattel!
