There is not really that much different happening this week, Pudding is just building on things already established and his/her organs are becoming more sophisticated. However, look at Pudding’s growth! 2 cm growth is one week! That’s 40%!!!
· Pudding’s eyes and ears continue to move and develop, and neck is still getting longer so that his/her chin no longer rests on his/her chest.
· Pudding’s hands are becoming more functional, and our baby is beginning to learn to move/use them.
· At this point, our little one is receiving all of his/her nourishment from the placenta (yay for me as morning sickness becomes a thing of the past!).
· We should be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat with a Doppler device.
· Little hairs, known as lanugo, will start to cover Pudding’s body this week.
· Our little one’s sense of taste and smell are further refined.
· Pudding’s cozy little amniotic sac is also increasing in size and mass, as it continues to fill with more fluid.
· Our little, little baby is growing fast and reaches about 2.91 inches (7.4cm) and weighs around 0.81 ounce (23gm) by the end of the week.
Each child is an adventure into a better life, an opportunity to change the old pattern and make it new.
